There is and there are

Tanto there is como there are significa “hay” (verbo haber), y se utiliza para indicar cantidad.

• There is: es singular

• There are: es plural. 
  

➤ There is

👉 Se usa con contables en singular, cuando nos referimos que hay una cosa.

Ejemplo:

There is a book: hay un libro.

👉 Se usa con los incontables.

There is many: hay dinero. 

 

➤ There are

👉 Se usa con contables en plural y se utiliza cuando nos referimos a que hay más de una cosa.

Ejemplo:

There are some pens: hay algunos bolígrafos.

La forma negativa de there is y de there are es:
